PlantsIO Ivy

PLANTSIO Ivy Smart Pet Planter

A novelty smart plant pot that turns your houseplant into an interactive "pet" — using sensors and an animated screen to show plant health as cute emoji-style expressions, plus app monitoring so you know when it needs water.

Key features:

  • 70+ animated expressions — reacts to touch (leaf touch, hugs, knocks, sounds) with emoji-style faces and purring sounds

  • 7 smart sensors — tracks soil moisture, light exposure, temperature, humidity, and water level

  • App-connected via Wi-Fi — remote monitoring and care reminders from your phone

  • 4 screen modes — plant mood display, Pomodoro timer, time/weather, and a custom photo/video loop — useful as a small desk gadget beyond just plant care

  • Smart home trigger — a touch on the leaf can activate connected lights or other smart devices

  • Supports 40+ common houseplant varieties, with care settings tailored per plant

  • 2000mAh battery and waterproof housing

Good to know before buying:

  • This is not a fully automated watering system in the true self-watering sense — it monitors and alerts, but check the specific listing/colour variant, as automated watering features vary across PLANTSIO's product range

  • Best suited to small to medium houseplants — check the pot size against your plant before buying

  • It's a young brand (crowdfunded via Indiegogo) with several near-identical variants sold under different names/colours on Amazon — worth double-checking you're ordering the exact version and colour you want, and reading recent reviews for that specific listing

  • Marketed heavily as a gift item (for coworkers, plant lovers, desk decor) rather than a serious gardening tool, temper expectations accordingly

  • Requires Wi-Fi and a charging cable connected to keep monitoring active

Best as a fun, personality-driven desk gadget for someone who wants a low-stakes way to remember to check on a houseplant, rather than a precision plant-care system. If you want genuine automated watering, look for planters explicitly marketed with that as a core feature.
